SHIWAKUTA conducted the Annual General Meeting and National Workshop in Dodoma

On December 18–19, 2024, SHIWAKUTA held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the African Dreams Hotel in Dodoma. The meeting was preceded by a National Workshop held on December 18, focused on the theme: “Secure Land Ownership as a Foundation for Sustainable Production.”
The workshop and AGM brought together approximately 105 participants, including representatives from government bodies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the media, academic institutions, and smallholder producers from various regions across the country.
The event served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and strategic planning. A total of 14 key resolutions emerged from the workshop discussions, reflecting the collective input and insights of the participants. These resolutions were officially presented to the government as policy recommendations to support small-scale producers.

- Promoting Education and Awareness
Continue to educate members and rural communities about land tenure rights, empowering them to achieve sustainable production. - Strengthening Advocacy
Enhance advocacy efforts by organizing consultative meetings with policymakers and decision-makers at all levels to advance the goal of securing land ownership for small-scale producers. - Utilizing Media Platforms
Leverage media channels to raise awareness and foster greater community engagement around land rights issues. - Fostering Strategic Partnerships
Strengthen collaboration with like-minded organizations to amplify advocacy efforts, particularly calling on authorities to expedite land surveys, implement village land use plans, and issue land tenure certificates, with a focus on supporting women and youth.
